This work, titled “In Memory of the Murdered Students on the Bamiyan–Kabul Route,” is dedicated to the Hazara students who were on their path toward knowledge and peace, yet became victims of violence and genocide. The swirling circles of color on the canvas symbolize movement and dynamism — the steps of young people who wished to become messengers of knowledge and a brighter future. But the red stains and dark lines recall how that journey was stopped in blood. The small blue flower at the center of the painting stands for innocence and hope that continues to live on despite all darkness. “In Memory of the Murdered Students on the Bamiyan–Kabul Route” is not merely a painting, but a testimony to historical suffering and a cry for justice — a reminder that genocide does not only take lives, but also destroys the future and dreams of an entire people.
