This work, titled “Clover,” tells the story of a childhood memory and a mother’s devotion. Every day, when I returned home from school, I would find her among the clover blossoms — bent over, cutting fodder for the cows and sheep. The red and green tones on this canvas are not only the colors of nature, but also a portrait of my mother: a woman dressed in dark green embroidered clothing, sitting among the flowers and tirelessly working to sustain the life of her family. This work is a tribute to all mothers whose love and labor grow quietly — like clover in the earth — nourishing us. “Clover” is the canvas of a memory: the gaze of a child who sees his mother among the flowers — everlasting, green, and endless.
